ABOUT ME
Hi, so great to finally meet you & if we have met already thank you for taking interest in my business phabulocity hair x beauty. Ever since I was old enough to know what it is like to get my hair done, it was always a concern for me! I remember having to take school pictures for pre- k! yes pre-k & I was so upset because I did not like the style my mom put it my hair which was plain straight backs, also known as jail braids. While at the time the trendy hairstyles included beads, Bobo’s, & Barrett’s. As I got older I needed to get my hair done more frequently or maybe I should use the word wanted. Either way I would come home from school & take my hair out every other day ready for a wash & a new style! Of course I did it before my lovely mother arrived home from her work day. One day she came in & saw my hair so distraught because I could not get the kankelon ponytail out that she had put in. The sadness on her face after all that time she put into my style and I was ready to switch up already! Now that I am older I understand that look and body language, Sorry mommy I was a baby diva! So to make a long story short, my older cousin began to take a interest in braiding hair & she loved doing my hair just as often as I loved getting it done! So I searched the internet day in & day out for new styles. Aside from that she just freestyled & it was an official Look every time! As the hair world evolved so did we, on top of us getting older.. she sewed my first weave in 2008 when I was in the 6th grade I will never forget because it literally changed my life! I was so in love with my new silky long hair, my new clean look in the mirror, the blend between my natural hair & pack hair & overall the beauty enhancement. Not saying I did not feel beautiful before because I did, I just really fell in love with that weave and I have been hooked on it ever since! My cousin continued to practice new techniques such as traditional sew ins, quick weaves, invisible parts, in between tracks & anything you can literally think of from that time in 2008-2009. Of course I wore out my welcome to it’s my cousin just like I did with my mom so now my only option was to do it myself. That’s one of my favorite mottos “if you want something done you must do it yourself”. That is exactly what I did, I had trial and error so many times but from feeling my cousin doing it on my head and seei her in the Mirror I just ran for it & strted out with quick weaves and half up half downs with like a crown type of style (Insert picture) I always jazzed it up with clips and headbands for a cute girly hey natural look. As time went on I learned how to go braid my hair better to then learn how to sew it in my hair. It was actually a home economics class in the 8th grade that taught me how to thread a needle and sew by hand and on the sewing machine. Granted we were learning to sew pillows & other similar items but I put my skills to use on my hair! Okayyyy. I have only been getting better ever since and still learning new techniques & glowig With the trends till this day! ( y’all about not taking it as serious for beautifying other women, always loved it, people kept asking abo my hair, never really been in a salon too much, took a few close friend clients and referrals in hs but lacked marketing myself, was tryna finish school. Went to college had no interest, inspired by other young entrepreneurs with flyers in dorms, still didn’t do it was focused on getting accustom to school, started doing it later and fell in love with that more than doing my own hair, senior year I worked at a hair company & started boomiNG and it’s been litt ever since)
